For the second year running, the municipality is celebrating residents’ 67th birthdays with a special event at Billund Centret on Thursday 8 October 2026 from 16:00 to 18:00.
Are you turning 67, or have you already turned 67, this year? Then you’ll have received an invitation in your digital mailbox to the birthday celebration on Thursday 8 October from 16:00 to 18:00 in Billund Centrets Kultursal. The doors will open at 15:30.
The aim of the birthday celebration is to inspire people to enjoy an active and fulfilling senior life, and to share information about opportunities to find new communities, activities and interests.
Getting ready for a new chapter in life
– When you leave the workforce to enjoy your senior years, it often comes with mixed feelings. You may be looking forward to having more time for yourself, family and friends, but it’s also a big transition. That’s why it’s important to prepare for this new chapter in life, which brings opportunities to become part of new communities and discover new interests or activities. With this joint birthday celebration, we’d like to offer some inspiration, says Birthe Nielsen, chair of the Adult and Health Committee.
Looking after body and mind
On this special day, the Kultursal will be buzzing with relevant talks and a range of stands offering inspiration for exercise, nature experiences, events, communities and socialising. It’s important to look after both body and mind when working life turns into senior life.
And, of course, there’ll be a shared birthday cake and song, led by Billund Kantori.
Everyone invited can bring a guest, and the event is free.
Celebrations take turns in the main towns
Last year, Billund Municipality marked residents’ 67th birthdays for the first time in Sdr. Omme. This year, Billund is hosting the celebration. The plan is to hold the event in turn in all seven main towns over the years.
This year, 340 residents are turning 67 and have received an invitation in their digital mailbox.
