Grindsted Gymnasie- & Erhvervsskole has a new board – with a familiar local face at the helm.
Kris Jensen Skriver has been elected as the new chair of the board for the next four years. The Grindsted resident has previously worked as a primary school teacher in Grindsted, served on Billund Municipality Council and been a member of Parliament for the Social Democrats.
In a way, he is also returning to where it all began. Kris Jensen Skriver was a student at Grindsted Gymnasie- & Erhvervsskole and also served on the school’s board as a student representative.
– I’m looking forward to the work and to working with the board. We must do our part to ensure that we continue to have a strong youth community and good upper secondary education programmes in Grindsted. That’s absolutely vital for our area, says Kris Jensen Skriver.
The board has elected Morten Hygum, appointed by DI, as vice-chair.
Other members of the new GGES board include Lars Hansen, appointed by Billund Municipality Council, Marie Skov Lillelund from Billund Erhverv, and representatives of students, staff, school leaders and higher education institutions, among others.
One of the new board’s major tasks will be to prepare the school for the upcoming EPX programme, which is planned to become part of the education landscape from 2030.
