It added up to more than empty cups and jugs when this year’s Vorbasse Market came to an end.
Around the market grounds, visitors could put their used cups and jugs in special boxes and, in that way, donate the deposit to a good cause. And it seems visitors quickly got the idea – because the boxes also ended up with quite a few ordinary deposit bottles.
Now the total has been calculated.
A total of 12,211 kroner has been sent to Børns Vilkår and the organisation’s work for children and young people.
– For us, Vorbasse Market is about more than just having fun, sharing a sense of community and enjoying great experiences. It’s also about supporting causes both locally and more broadly. That’s why we’re pleased that the proceeds from deposits on cups, glasses and jugs at the market can help support Børns Vilkår’s important work for children and young people, says marketing manager Jeppe Donslund.
He is especially pleased that the market’s visitors have helped make the donation possible through a simple action.
– When children reach out for help, there needs to be someone who listens. We think that’s a cause worth supporting, and we’re proud that our visitors are helping make it possible, says Jeppe Donslund.
This is not the first time that unclaimed deposits at Vorbasse Market have been turned into help.
Last year, around 17,000 kroner went to Danske Hospitalsklovne.
This year, Børns Vilkår can add 12,211 kroner to its account – thanks to market visitors who chose to donate their deposits to a good cause.
